19th February, 2012

A great night was had by all last night celebrating the marriage of John and Mary at Roslyn Court Homestead in Essendon. The dance floor was packed as everyone bopped along as Rockwyse provided the entertainment to rave reviews from the happy couple and guests alike.

Next up is our annual gala event at the Coatesville Bowling Club.

5th January, 2012

Yes folks, it's 2012. Another rockin' Rockwyse year done and dusted and another one to come...hopefully many more.

New Year's Eve at Rye RSL was an absolute blast! It was a full house and packed dance floor all night long. In fact we were having so much fun we kept on playing until the venue asked us to leave. Guess they wanted to get home to their beds. I have often been heard to say, "if it's too loud, you're too old!" Guess that applies to 'if it's too late'. Regardless of that though we (Rockwyse) had a great time, The crowd, many of which stayed until the end also seemed to be enjoying it, and we had a great romp through Auld Lang Syne which I'm sure went on for 10 minutes on its own!

Thanks again to the staff who looked after us, and thanks to the caterers (name unknown) who booked us and fed us.

Perhaps we'll see you next New Year's Eve.

31st October, 2011

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Judy Tarabaras, wife of Peter Tarabas who was a co-founding member and keyboard player of Rockwyse until he left the band in December of 2010. Judy passed away peacefully on 31/10/2011. We will all miss Judy who was a good friend of Rockwyse and often came to our gigs. Our thoughts are with Peter and his family.

24th September, 2011

If you were ar Rye RSL for our 10th Septmber gig you would have already heard this, but if you weren't there, that was our last planned gig at Rye RSL for the foreseeable future. Rockwyse has been playing there every 2 months or so for about 5 years but we have come to the end of our run.. I won't go into the reasons behind this so let me just say, thanks to all the staff at Rye RSL who made us feel welcome and who looked after us.

But especially, thank you from all the members, past and present, of Rockwyse for all the great times that you, the audience, gave us. We have always enjoyed playing there, and have had some great gigs with many people, young and young-at-heart, staying until we finished each time.

Perhaps we will be back there some time in the future but keep your eyes on this web site for other places that you can come hear and see Rockwyse.

18th July, 2011

Saturday night Rockwyse entertained the Hampton Park Tavern Social Golf Club for their annual presentation night and dinner. It was a big night with lots of drinking, dancing, and general fun.

With three (3) members of the the band all taking holidays to various parts of the country and the world, this will be Rockwyse's last gig until the 10th of September, 2011 when we return to the Rye RSL. We only have two (2) more gigs left at Rye RSL when Rockwyse will finish what has been a residency (playing every 2 months) for more than four (4) years, so don't delay if you're down that way! Come see us before it's too late and we go off to play other venues that might not be as close to the Peninsula residents.

18th March, 2011

Rockwyse's next gig is a private function in Bentleigh. This gig also marks the 1 year anniversary since KG became Rockwyse's lead singer. And coincidentally it's at the same venue as it was 12 months ago. It was a big night that night and there's no reason to doubt it will be a big night this time around.

Rockwyse's next public gig will be on Saturday 14th May, 2011 at Rye RSL. A regular haunt of ours. But stay tuned as there are always new gigs being booked.

13th March, 2011

Well Saturday night was a BLAST! If you weren't at the Rye RSL listening to Rockwyse then you really missed out. We had rave reviews from a huge audience and Michael in his first gig with Rockwyse put up a great effort. Even an ex-member was there and said how great we sounded.

We'll get photos and perhaps a new video up soon so come back often.

So look out for us next time we play. Oh and....there will be no line dancing music in the breaks. We're a rock band!

7th March, 2011

This coming Saturday night, the 12th March, 2011, Rockwyse plays the Rye RSL with our new keyboard player, Michael. And let me tell you, he's as nervous as hell...though that's not quite the way he explained it! This is a family web site so I had to clean it up a bit. We kick off at 7:30 pm and finish up about 11:30 pm so come on down and join in the fun. No cover charge, just book yourselves a table, have some dinner then get some exercise on the dance floor to work that dinner off.

And we'll have Rhys Prosser there taking photos and maybe even a video so don't forget to come back and see what's changed on the web site. (We already have a video of Copperhead Rd up on YouTube: click on here --> http://www.youtube.com/rockwyse )

Hope to see you there!

3rd February, 2011

Can you believe it's February already? All the Rockwyse rock stars are back from their holidays and raring to go! Our first public gig after the holidays break is 12th March at Rye RSL and our newest rock star, Michael, will be in the lineup and banging out all your favourite songs on keyboards. Come on down and have some fun but make sure you book a table as it's ALWAYS busy when Rockwyse plays. No cover charge!

9th January, 2011

So, last night was officially Peter's last gig with Rockwyse. And we blew them away at the Rye RSL. We'll be sorry to see him go as, being a founding member of Rockwyse he has been an integral part of the band and all that's happened over many, many years of playing together.

We are getting our new guy up to speed and in March - ironically at the Rye RSL - Michael will join us for his first gig. Come along and make him welcome and have a fun night of great music and dancing.

We'll be updating the photos and web site as Michael gets underway.

See you all there at Rye!

10th December, 2010

As you know, Peter, our keyboard player and founding member is leaving Rockwyse (see article below - 7th December). We have been auditioning replacements and have recently invited one of the auditionees to join us. His name is Michael and brings with him a wealth of live experience and a brand new set of keys. All being well, Michael will join us for his first Rockwyse performance on 8th January, 2011 at Rye RSL so make sure you come on down and help us initiate him.

7th December, 2010

After more than six years with Rockwyse, Peter, our keyboard player and one of the founding
members of Rockwyse, is calling it quits. I guess he's just had enough of the "short" jokes,
the jibes about being rich (which he assures me he's not. Just how much IS enough, Peter?) and the constant harrassment he gets for being late to rehearsal. Peter has obviously been an integral part of Rockwyse from it's humble beginnings to the powerhouse live band it is now and we will be sad to see him go.

Rye RSL on the 11th December, 2010 could be your last chance to see him play so come along and help us wish him well and goodbye (even though he's playing the New Year's Eve gig with us).

22nd October, 2010

The new Rockwyse web site is up and running. It must be...you're looking at it right now! This is the place to find out all about what Rockwyse is up to, where you can see them and where to book them for your party!
